Hull City to pay at least €7m for signing – Tigers to officially announce deal soon

Hull City are working on signing Orlando City’s Marco Pašalić, after Sergej Jakirović confirmed the Premier League side’s interest.

On Monday, the Tigers manager spoke to the Croatian media about several topics. He revealed Hull City are keen on Pašalić, HNK Rijeka’s Toni Fruk and Hajduk Split’s Rokas Pukštas.

“For example, from the HNL we’ve put Toni Fruk and Rokas Pukštas on the list. This time we’re not going for Hoxha, whom I wanted earlier. And Marco Pašalić is an option for the right wing. I like to say that these are players I trust completely,” he said.

Hull City decide to take action for Pašalić

The newly promoted Premier League side are looking to improve their attack with Marco Pašalić.

That’s according to Index.hr from Croatia, who claims Sergej Jakirović wants to bring the 25-year-old to the MKM Stadium this summer.

The Croatia international left Borussia Dortmund for HNK Rijeka in June 2023. His form for the latter would have convinced the MLS side to sign him for €4.8m in February 2025.

Hull City want to secure his services and to do that, they should offer a minimum of €7m to the American club. Index.hr claim the figure could increase, which would indicate the €7m would be a fixed fee.

The outlet further states: ‘The transfer should be officially announced soon.’

Manager connection would be key

Marco Pašalić

Operating in his preferred position on the right wing, he managed 17 goals and six assists from 52 matches for Orlando City.

Marco Pašalić already knows the Hull City manager from their time at HNK Rijeka. He only played only seven matches under Sergej Jakirović, managing four goals and two assists, as the manager left the club for Dinamo Zagreb.

Jakirović has played a key role in pushing the English club to sign him. If Index’s report is to be believed, the attacker will soon reunite with his former coach at Hull City.
