Botafogo’s Danilo Santos has returned from the World Cup with Brazil and could be in line for a move to Newcastle United.
2026 has been a pretty good year for the former Nottingham Forest player. He scored seven times in 12 games in the Brazilian top-flight, enjoying his best goalscoring campaign at club level.
This helped him earn a call-up for the World Cup, where he played four times. While he didn’t make a start, it’s clear his stature has improved since leaving Forest.
Now, a return to the Premier League could be on the cards and his agents can place him at Newcastle United.
Agents actively working
ASRomaLive note that while Roma are interested in the midfielder, their finances may not allow them to pursue their idea.
The outlet report that those around the Botafogo player flew to St. Petersburg before the World Cup. This trip saw them speak to Zenit about a possible transfer but that hasn’t materialised.
That is why a Premier League move could be on the cards. Danilo has the same agents as Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes and they are trying to move the latter away from St James’ Park. This can open up the possibility of taking his compatriot to Tyneside.
Bertolucci Sports would manage both transfers, taking one to and one away from Newcastle United.
🇳🇱 Newcastle plan for Sean Steur explained
💬 “Howe reserves his energy for his favourites, mostly talents he has recruited himself. Anyone who does not appeal to him receives hardly any attention. Steur is clearly regarded by Howe as a gem”https://t.co/V9FMb8kbKC #nufc
