Udinese’s Oumar Solet is likely to leave the Italian side this summer and Leeds United are keen on his signature.
The centre-back has become one of the standout players for the Friulian club since joining for free in January 2025. He has now played 57 times in all competitions for them, becoming one of the most reliable ball playing centre-backs in Serie A.
English clubs have been watching the Frenchman for quite some time. Back in 2025, SportWitness covered West Ham interest and the player has improved since.
Inter Milan have been keen on signing him but it is Leeds United who are pushing for the centre-back.
Contacts ongoing
Messaggero Veneto – via UdineseBlog, report the Whites are serious about signing Solet. The Italian side could be open to a sale, despite having already parted ways with Arthur Atta.
They are trying to sign Ognjen Ugresic and money earned from the defender’s sale can be used to bring in the midfielder.
Leeds United see Solet as a possible replacement for Pascal Struijk and are trying to agree personal terms with him.
Journalist Francesco Guerrieri reports more on the 26-year-old, clarifying that contacts are ongoing. The Yorkshire club have spoken to Solet’s entourage and appear to be pushing for the move.
Leeds should push for move
Solet has very impressive ball-playing abilities and has also improved from a defensive standpoint in Italy.
His profile suits English football and he could be a more than able replacement for Struijk.
Interestingly, Leeds United have dealt with Solet’s entourage this summer, when they signed Harry Wilson. Both players are presented by Unique Sports Group and this could play a key role in their move for the centre-back.
The only risk in the deal could be Inter, if they end up making a formal offer for the Udinese star.
