Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano 'Dibu' Martinez is staying in Birmingham, the Premier League club told Juventus Tuesday dismissing a reputedly big offer for the World Cup winning keeper.
Villa said it has closed the door to Juventus.
"He will stay with us; we have no intention of letting him leave this summer," said the club's director of football operations, Damian Vidagany.
"The team needs his dedication and vast experience, and he is a very important element in our project for next season." The director, interviewed by the 365Scores portal, also added that "all the media reports about his possible transfer to Juventus do not reflect the club's true position.
"Martinez is a very important player for us, and we expect him to continue to deliver exceptional performances alongside his teammates." Now the Bianconeri will turn to alternative profiles for the goalkeeper: Vicario, Suzuki and Milinkovic-Savic are the names linked to the Turin giants.
