Aston Villa are about to sell Lucas Digne and their move for a replacement will also impact Manchester United.
The Villans are expected to lose two key players in a short space of time. Digne is on his way to Paris Saint-Germain and Youri Tielemans is being snapped up by Manchester United.
The left-back, who is impressing at the World Cup, will leave for a fee under €10m, which is a bargain for the French giants.
Aston Villa don’t appear fazed and are making progress in a move for Pervis Estupinan.
AC Milan open to sale
Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo reports Milan are keen on selling Estupinan. The Ecuadorian joined from Brighton in 2025 but failed to impress under Max Allegri last season.
The journalist states ‘negotiations are underway’ between the Rossoneri and Aston Villa. Unai Emery is a big fan of the South American, who is currently valued at €20m. The Villans are attempting to get a discount and there is optimism an agreement should be reached soon.
Milan have made plans of their own. Ruben Amorim is seeking versatile players and is a big fan of Manchester United’s Noussair Mazraoui.
The San Siro club want to use the money earned from Estupinan’s sale to sign the Moroccan.
Manchester United’s stance about his exit is unknown but Mazraoui would have to push for a transfer, if he really wants one.
Things looking good for Emery
Replacing Digne with Estupinan makes a lot of sense for Aston Villa. The 28-year-old will be eager to become a first-choice and his spell at Brighton brought out his strengths. Under Allegri, his defensive weaknesses were exposed. But Emery’s system will allow him to fly forward more often.
The left-back isn’t expected to cost much, although Milan will still earn a capital gain. They signed him for a package worth €20m and anything around that will help the Rossoneri.
As for Manchester United, they aren’t under pressure to sell Mazraoui. He remains a reliable squad player and his versatility makes him a valuable asset. He is coming back after a very good World Cup and Milan’s move for him wouldn’t be straightforward.
