Karl Darlow has signed for Manchester United on a free transfer.
The Wales international has penned a two-year contract at Old Trafford, with the option to extend by a further year.
The 35-year-old leaves Leeds United following the expiry of his contract, and is now set to offer cover for first choice keeper Senne Lammens.
In a statement confirming Darlow's move across the Penines, Leeds made it clear Darlow was offered a new deal in an attempt to keep him. The statement read: "Leeds United can confirm Karl Darlow has left the club upon the expiration of his contract to pursue an opportunity elsewhere.
"Despite the offer of a new deal to remain in West Yorkshire, the goalkeeper wished to explore a different challenge and leaves the Whites with the best wishes of everyone at Elland Road."
Darlow departs having made 38 appearances for the Whites, playing an important role in the team’s 2024/25 Championship title-winning season.
He was also instrumental in helping Leeds secure their Premier League status last term, and actually finished as Daniel Farke's first choice keeper.
The former Newcastle United stopper was one of several Wales internationals on the books there, with the contingent growing further earlier this summer following the club's capture of Harry Wilson.
However, despite being offered the chance to stay in west Yorkshire, he has now decided to move on.
"I am extremely proud to sign for Manchester United," Darlow said.
"I'm joining an excellent group of goalkeepers and I'm really looking forward to all pushing each other to ensure that we maintain the highest standards, which this club demands."
Jason Wilcox, director of football, added: “Karl has proven his ability to perform at the highest level, his work ethic and determined personality make him a really strong addition to our squad.
“We are delighted to add a player of his quality and experience to our excellent goalkeeping group.”
Lammens is currently taking a three-week break following Belgium's World Cup campaign, meaning Darlow is likely to be heavily involved in the club's pre-season campaign.
Their first clash sees them take on Welsh side Wrexham in Helsinki on July 18.
