In recent months, there have been plenty of links between Milan and Valdepenas, even as a potential replacement for David Odogu. A talented young defender capable of playing at left-back, wing-back and even as a centre-half, Milan have been tempted to make a move.

However, they have never pulled the trigger on a deal and it has now become impossible to do so this summer…
Valdepenas to Fiorentina
Now, Fabrizio Romano states that the Spaniard is heading to Italy, but not to Milano. Instead, he is going to Florence, where a deal has been agreed between Fiorentina and Real Madrid.
“Fiorentina reach verbal agreement to sign Víctor Valdepeñas from Real Madrid, here we go! €8m transfer fee, contract until June 2031, Real Madrid will maintain 50% sell-on clause and future control in case of any bids. The clubs have started exchanging documents today.”
His career path certainly looks a little similar to Mario Gila, heading from Madrid to a historically big Italian club. Whether he will leave Florence in a few years for San Siro, well, we’ll have to see…
