Leeds United have welcomed a new performance analyst to their ranks ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.
Leeds United have welcomed an ‘exceptional’ backroom staff member to Elland Road from Championship outfit Cardiff City.
Matthew Jenkins spent eight years rising through the ranks at Cardiff, starting out as an under-23 performance analyst in 2018. His most senior role was head first-team performance analyst last season.
He worked closely with head coach Brian Barry-Murphy as the Bluebirds finished second in League One - behind Michael Skubala’s Lincoln City - achieving promotion to the Championship. The Cardiff boss admitted last season that the ‘exceptional’ Jenkins had blown him away.

"One of the biggest things I wanted to do with the squad, with the staff, was to secure the numbers of staff who are exceptional at the job, which he is, and to make him really valuable... I've been very blessed to have Matt Jenks in the building to work alongside him and really, he's blowing me away."
