Ipswich Town Women have continued their ambitious summer rebuild with three major additions to David Wright’s squad, securing Georgia Timms, Ava Baker and Kenzie Weir ahead of the 2026/27 Barclays Women’s Super League 2 campaign. Each signing brings proven quality, experience and personality and collectively strengthens the spine of a team aiming to push higher this season.
Georgia Timms Joins After Golden Boot Season at Hearts
Ipswich have confirmed the permanent signing of Georgia Timms from Scottish champions Hearts. The 28‑year‑old striker arrives after a standout season in the SWPL, scoring 19 goals and providing six assists, earning the Golden Boot, Player of the Year, and Players’ Player of the Year awards as Hearts lifted the league title.
Across four years in Edinburgh, Timms made 100+ appearances, scoring 45 goals and adding 11 assists. Before her move north, she spent five seasons with Oxford United and later represented Lewes over 50 times in the second tier.
Timms Said : “I’m so happy to be here. The club, the direction it’s going in and speaking with the manager and Sean, it was the move that I wanted.”
Women’s Technical Director Sean Burt added: “We’re delighted Georgia has chosen to join us. She’s a player we identified quickly after being a standout for a number of seasons in Scotland. Having worked with her previously, we’ve got no doubt she’ll be a fantastic addition.”
Ava Baker Returns on Loan From Birmingham City
Town have also secured the return of winger Ava Baker on loan from Birmingham City. Baker, an England U20 international, impressed during her January arrival last season, scoring once and assisting twice across nine appearances. Her pace, directness and creativity made her an instant fit within Wright’s system.
The 19‑year‑old first broke through at Leicester City, becoming the club’s youngest‑ever goalscorer after netting against Sunderland aged just 16.
Baker said: “I’m delighted to be back at Ipswich after a really enjoyable time here last season. The ambition and drive of this club made me want to return.”
Sean Burt added:“We’re really pleased to have Ava back. She settled quickly last year and showed exactly what she’s capable of. She has real quality and a fantastic attitude — we’ve no doubt she’ll play an important role this season.”
Kenzie Weir Signs Permanently After Impressive Loan Spell
Central defender Kenzie Weir has joined Ipswich on a permanent deal following her influential loan from Everton.
Weir played a key role in securing Town’s WSL2 status last season, contributing vital defensive performances and scoring important goals against Sheffield United and Sunderland. The Scotland international previously spent four years at Everton, with loan spells at Lewes and Glasgow City.
She has represented Scotland at U16, U19, and U23 and received her first senior call‑up in April.
Weir said: “I’m really happy to have returned on a permanent basis. There’s real ambition to push on and I’m looking forward to being part of that.”
Sean Burt added: “It was a no‑brainer to bring Kenzie back. Her presence in both boxes was huge in our revival, and her experience at a WSL1 club helped drive standards off the pitch. It’s fantastic she’s joined us permanently.”
