Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain continue discussions over an agreement that would see Randal Kolo Muani return to the Allianz Stadium this summer, but the Champions League winners are demanding far too much for the attacker.
Juventus have their own valuation of the forward, but it remains below PSG’s asking price, which has prevented both clubs from reaching a breakthrough. The difference in their expectations has caused negotiations to slow down as they attempt to find a solution.
Juventus facing time pressure
Time is becoming a concern because Luciano Spalletti wants his striker involved in preparations for the new season. The manager had hoped that Juventus would have completed the signing by now, allowing the player to settle into the squad before competitive matches begin.
However, the Bianconeri have still not reached an agreement to bring Kolo Muani back to Turin, with Giovanni Carnevali leading the discussions with PSG. The Bianconeri remain interested in the striker but are unwilling to accept a deal that does not match their assessment of his value.
Talks continue as Juventus consider options
PSG want to secure the best possible value for the attacker, but Juventus are prepared to walk away from negotiations if the two clubs cannot find common ground. The Old Lady is already considering alternative options should an agreement with the Champions League winners fail to materialise.
As quoted by Sky Sports, Carnevali addressed the situation and explained the difficulties clubs face in the current market.
He said: “The cost of footballers is growing ever higher, with figures almost unattainable while the revenues of Serie A clubs are unable to keep pace with leagues like the Premier League. You have to cut costs and have an economic balance that is difficult to achieve. There’s no point in hiding it, just see in our league that the market is still at a standstill. Kolo Muani? There are demands too high, or we find an agreement or we’ll go to some other player,”
Juventus remain determined to strengthen their attack, but they will not compromise on their valuation. The coming days could prove important as both sides decide whether a compromise can be reached or if Juve will move towards another target.
