Leeds United exit imminent with full agreement this week – 49ers now hunt for replacement

Leeds United goalkeeper Lucas Perri has reportedly agreed a deal to move to Serie A club Torino this week.

Leeds’ goalkeeper department has gone from a four-man contingent to looking like being just Alex Cairns on the books for next season.

Illan Meslier has joined Arsenal, Karl Darlow is going to Old Trafford. And now, Lucas Perri looks set for an exit this week.

Lucas Perri and Leeds United agree loan move to Torino – Italian reports

The past 12 months have been far from successful for Lucas Perri at Leeds. Although his form in the FA Cup showed he has what it takes to justify his £15.6million fee, he was unconvincing in the Premier League.

So, it’s not surprising to see an exit is in the offing this week, namely to Serie A club Torino.

That’s according to a report from La Stampa (via ToroNews), who claim that Leeds have reached a club-to-club agreement to loan Perri to the Turin club. Not only that, but the player has also agreed terms over a transfer as well.

The main stumbling block for a deal being pushed through is United finding a sufficient replacement first.

“Yesterday, the Granata reached an agreement with both the player and Leeds,” they wrote. “But the deal has not yet been finalized because the English club has specified that they will only loan Perri out once they find a replacement.”

Perri, having struggled in 25/26, is claimed to have immediately agreed to joining the Serie A club this month.

Leeds United need to kick into gear to replace Lucas Perri as soon as possible

Perri hasn’t worked out at Leeds, and it’s not a surprise that we’re willing to let him leave. As much as a loan would be underwhelming, his stock has dipped due to poor form here, and maybe this loan rekindles his worth.

As the report outlines, though, we need to get a fresh name through the doors as quickly as possible. Not only do we need a new starter soon, but we also need to allow Perri an exit.

Should we make an ambitious new signing – and presumably a new No2 option – then I don’t think anyone will be fussed about Perri going.

It’s about time we kicked into gear with goalkeepers, though. I’m not sure I’ll feel at all relaxed if it’s not a deal we sort soon.
