Saints In Talks To Sign Former Ipswich Town Loanee

There is a lot of talking going on in the World at the moment, Ukraine & Russia, Israel & Iran as well as others, but it seems that Southampton are in more talks with strikers than the lot of them, read on for the latest one we are talking too.

As I type Southampton have seemingly been doing a lot of talking with a lot of players, but we have yet to get a truly new signing over the line, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano the latest one is Como's former Ipswich loanee Ivan Azon as [the72.co.uk](http://the72.co.uk/2026/07/14/southampton-talks-10m-izan-azon-deal/) are reporting.

Although Azon is a centre forward in the more traditional style and not a hybrid type of striker as some we have been linked with have been, his CV is not exactly impressive.

With his first club Real Zaragoza 144 appearances in La Liga 2 yielded 44 goals leading to Italian side Como to sign him in the winter transfer widow of 2025, but he failed to make an appearances for them in Serie A.

That lead Como to loan him to Ipswich Town in the final week of the summer transfer window last year.

Of the 43 games in the Championship he could have played in, he would be involved in 38 of them, missing two through injury and the other 3 as an unused sub.

But he would score just 5 goals plus 4 assists, one of those assists coming at St Mary's.

That is not the record that will excite Southampton supporters.

Saints are said to be looking at a permanent deal and the fee being quoted is around £5 million.
