Manchester United are weighing up three more signings for the summer transfer window, according to The Sun journalist Samuel Luckhurst.
The Red Devils have primarily focused on bolstering their midfield department and have already recruited Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.
Alongside the duo, they have also signed goalkeeper Karl Darlow, and Luckhurst claims that there could be more additions to the squad soon.
The club are currently in an assessment phase, but there are plans to pursue another midfielder alongside a left winger and a specialist striker.
Part of the transfer business could depend on outgoings. Marcus Rashford’s departure could be key to the club’s recruitment of a left winger.
United poised to continue spending spree
The Red Devils have sprung a surprise with their transfer activity this summer. The decision to land Santos from Chelsea came out of the blue.
Similarly, Tielemans was recruited out of nowhere. United grabbed the opportunity to trigger his £35 million release clause ahead of other suitors. He has become the club’s latest signing.
Despite those purchases, United are lagging behind in terms of height and pace in the centre of the park, and they may want another midfield acquisition.
Roma’s Manu Kone has been named as a possible solution. The Frenchman would be a good investment as he would add aerial presence and extra mobility.
For the left wing, West Ham United’s Crysencio Summerville is being eyed, but a deal could depend on Rashford’s exit. For now, the Englishman will start the new season with United, having returned from a successful loan spell with Barcelona last term.
A new marksman does not seem a necessity, but things could change if Joshua Zirkzee were to leave. Benjamin Sesko could be an undisputed striker when fit but needs quality competition. Someone like Barcelona’s Ferran Torres would be an ideal candidate for United.
