Gabriel Sara is attracting transfer interest from the Premier League

Aston Villa are interested in Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara this summer as they face a potential midfield rebuild.

Sporx report the 27-year-old is on Aston Villa’s radar as they seek replacements for Youri Tielemans.

According to the outlet, Aston Villa are interested in Gabriel Sara and plan to make a €30m offer for the midfielder. The effort is seen as an attempt to bolster their options, with Tielemans having left for Manchester United and Amadou Onana facing most of the season out injured.

According to their information, Unai Emery’s side intend to make a €30m offer this week. Such an offer would be over Sara’s current value, which is around €27m. His current deal with Galatasaray runs until 2029.

He’s been a key player for the Turkish side since joining from Norwich City in an €18m deal in 2024. Since then, he’s managed eight goals and 15 assists in 87 games for the club.

Aston Villa’s longstanding interest

There is no mention of whether Galatasaray would be willing to sell this summer. Gabriel Sara has been linked with a move away for some time. Aston Villa have often been named among his biggest admirers.

Indeed, Sport Witness covered reports throughout last summer insisting that thye were interested in a move.

And those reports have returned in the last few months as well. A report back in April stated that Aston Villa officials had been on a transfer mission to look at the midfielder.

A report last month then stated that Galatasaray were planning for a sale. Then it was suggested there could be a potential crossover. That would see Emi Buendia potentially heading to Türkiye while Sara headed in the other direction.

Now it seems Aston Villa are ready to make a bid, perhaps spurred on by Tielemans’ surprise move to Old Trafford.
