View: Every Leeds United position ranked from strongest to weakest amid transfer window latest

Harry Wilson is already through the door at Elland Road, signing on a free transfer after his contract expired at Fulham.

Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic is also reportedly ready to travel for a medical ahead of his expected arrival.

Work is certainly ongoing to improve a squad that finished 14th in the Premier League last season.

Here, MOT Leeds News has ranked Leeds' current squad from strongest to weakest as things stand.

Leeds United midfielders ranked - 8/10

Arguably the strongest part of the Whites' squad currently is in the centre of the park.

Captain Ethan Ampadu is a player who could play for any team in the league such is the quality he possesses.

Ilia Gruev could possibly sold, and Brenden Aaronson will always divide opion, so it is understandable Daniel Farke still wants reinforcement - hence the links to Charles.

Leeds United defenders ranked - 7/10

The main issue for Leeds in defence right now is just a lack of numbers.

Pascal Struijk's sale to Brighton leaves Leeds light in numbers there, while more left-back cover for Gabriel Gudmundsson would be ideal.

James Justin and Jayden Bogle are both excellent options on the right, with the former able to cover on the other side or on the right of a three-man defence.

MOT Leeds News covered reports that Muharemovic is ready to undergo an Elland Road medical, and that would represent an excellent addition.

Even if that deal gets over the line, though, you feel that Farke might want another centre-back.

Leeds United forwards ranked - 6/10

If there is one area Farke would dearly love some additional quality then it is in the final third.

Wilson's arrival will certainly help with that, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin is an excellent top-flight operator.

But the likes of Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto are hit and miss at this level, while Noah Okafor was a decent if unspectacular addition last term.

An upgrade on Lukas Nmecha would be welcomed, while Joel Piroe will surely move on to pastures new.

Leeds United goalkeepers ranked - 2/10

Goalkeeper is a real area of concern for Leeds, and one that needs addressing as a matter of urgency.

It was no surprise to see Illan Meslier depart after the expiry of his contract, though it was a surprise to see him rock up at Premier League champions Arsenal.

Fans were left down by Darlow's decision to join arch-rivals Man United on a free transfer, though it felt likely he would leave as he was likely be second choice again this season.

It means the only senior goalkeepers on the books as it stands are the exit-linked Lucas Perri, and emergency back-up Alex Cairns.

Perri is being tipped to leave for Torino, but until replacements can be sourced he won't be solved.

The likes of James Trafford, Zion Suzuki, and Jacob Widell Zetterstrom are the among the goalkeepers reportedly on Leeds' radar as they aim to bolster their numbers between the sticks.
