Pundit thinks Mateo Pellegrino is better than Dusan Vlahovic

After allowing Dusan Vlahovic to leave as a free agent, Juventus is keen to sign Mateo Pellegrino from Parma, and pundit Enrico Fedele believes he is a striker capable of replacing the Serbian forward.

Juventus wanted to keep Vlahovic in their squad this summer because he has been one of their most important players. However, the club was unable to reach an agreement with the Serbian striker over a new deal.

Juventus consider Pellegrino as a replacement

Vlahovic remains one of Juventus’ strongest players and has continued to perform well, but he wanted a higher salary than the club was prepared to offer. Juventus is now in discussions to sign Randal Kolo Muani from PSG as they look to strengthen their attack.

Kolo Muani is unlikely to be the only forward arriving at the club this summer, with Juventus also identifying Pellegrino as another attacking option to add to their squad.

The Bianconeri will attempt to win the race for Pellegrino’s signature and reach an agreement with Parma. However, questions remain over whether signing another striker is a better solution than meeting Vlahovic’s demands and keeping an established player.

Juventus has decided against exceeding its wage structure to retain Vlahovic and is instead looking towards new options. Fedele believes Pellegrino has the qualities needed to succeed at the club.

Fedele praises Pellegrino’s qualities

According to Tuttojuve, Fedele believes Pellegrino would be the striker he would choose and highlighted the qualities that make him a suitable option for Juventus.

He said: “I would definitely take the first one (Pellegrino), I would have no doubts. Because I know him. He’s a real Argentine striker, who has an incredible header. As an area man, if I play 4-3-3, you need a battering ram and he is.”

Pellegrino’s physical presence and ability in the penalty area are qualities that could appeal to Juventus as they look to rebuild their attacking options. The club will now aim to complete the transfer while continuing to prepare for the upcoming season.
