AC Milan can cross Antonio Silva’s name off their list of targets, if indeed he was ever on there at all.
Milan seemed to be closing in on signing Silva as per La Gazzetta dello Sport, until Benfica put up a wall amid hopes of convincing him to sign a contract extension. So, the management turned to Mario Gila of Lazio to strengthen the back line, signing him for around €30m.

Yesterday, the news emerged from multiple sources that Silva had rejected a renewal offer from the Portuguese club and that he was now exploring an exit, which had piqued the interest of the Rossoneri again.
However, Fabrizio Romano is now reporting the following: “Bournemouth are closing in on Antonio Silva deal, here we go soon!
“Agreement on personal terms with the centre back and very close also club to club with Benfica. Nothing will be signed this week as Benfica will only allow exit to AFCB later on.”
Romano (via Reddit) also states that Silva ‘was never a Milan target despite recent reports’. A potential deal was not on the table at any moment, so he is now expected to join Bournemouth and start a new adventure there under Marco Rose, who replaced Andoni Iraola.
