Farewell Leo: Trossard's biggest Arsenal moments

Leandro Trossard is departing north London as a Premier League winner, renowned for netting big goals in the biggest moments.

The Belgian joined us in January 2023, contributing 10 assists in his first five months as a Gunner.

Leo would go on to net 36 times in our colours and provide clutch moments that would steer us towards our first Premier League title in 22 years. Here are some of his standout moments.

FIRST HALF HAT-TRICK

Leo's first goal for us came in February 2023 in a 1-1 draw against Brentford, but it was his assists that provided the biggest contribution in his first season.

We headed to west London to take on Fulham, where Leo was in a league of his own in a rampant 45 minutes at Craven Cottage. Leo set up Gabriel, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard in the first period to help us cruise to a 3-0 victory.

LATE SHOW AT WEMBLEY

We faced Manchester City in the 2023/24 curtain raiser at Wembley in August 2023, and it was Leo who saved the day in the Community Shield.

Cole Palmer had put City ahead, but deep into stoppage time, Trossard was able to fire his deflected effort home to send the match to spot kicks. Leo also converted his penalty as we won 4-1 in the shootout to lift the silverware.

COMEBACK AT THE BRIDGE

Trailing 2-0 at Chelsea in November 2023, we looked set to suffer our first Premier League defeat of the 2023/24 season.

After Declan Rice's long-range effort, Trossard completed the fightback, darting in at the back post to latch onto Bukayo Saka's cross and fire past Robert Sanchez to make it 2-2.

1,000th EMIRATES GOAL

A home clash against Burnley in November 2023 offered the chance for a player to make history by scoring our 1,000th goal at Emirates Stadium.

It could only be one man. Leo pounced at the back post to head home and open the scoring in a 3-1 victory that cemented the Belgian's place in the record books.

LIVERPOOL DAGGER

A huge top-of-the-table clash in January 2024 saw us face league leaders Liverpool, trailing the Reds by five points going into the contest. Saka and Martinelli put us 2-1 up before Trossard entered the party to seal the deal.

Galloping down the wing to get away from defenders, Leo then rifled the ball through the visiting goalkeeper Alisson to clinch a 3-1 victory and send Emirates into delirium.

PUNISHING PORTO

A dramatic last-minute defeat in Porto left us with work to do as we hosted the Portuguese outfit in the Champions League round of 16 in March 2024, needing to turn the game around.

With the game drifting towards half-time, Odegaard picked out Trossard down the left, and the outcome was never in doubt. The Belgian slotted into the bottom corner to level the tie on the night, which helped us beat Porto on penalties and advance to the competition's quarter-final for the first time since 2010.

OLD TRAFFORD WINNER

Only a victory at Manchester United in May 2024 would keep the 23/24 title race alive, and yet again, it was Leo who provided the difference. Kai Havertz kept himself onside, picking out the onrushing Leo who crashed home the only goal of the game to give us just our second victory at Old Trafford in 18 years.

Across all competitions in 23/24, Leo found the net against Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea, providing his worth as a big-game player.

DERBY DAY HERO

Having trailed at home to Tottenham in January 2025, we were back on level terms when Dominic Solanke scored an own goal as we headed into half-time. But there was one last big moment in the half and it was provided by our No. 19.

Picking up the ball on the left, the Belgian drilled his effort into the bottom corner to send N5 wild and give us three points and another double over our rivals.

Trossard made a habit of scoring big goals from the bench during his time in N5, and our opening Champions League match of 2025/26 was a prime example.

Drawing 0-0 against Athletic Club in September 2025, Leo came off the bench to provide an assist for fellow finisher, Martinelli on 72 minutes. Leo then got in on the act himself, netting our second from close range on 87 minutes to give us all three points in the Basque Country.

WEST HAM CLINCHER

With seven minutes remaining at the London Stadium in May 2026, we were searching for a winning goal that would go a long way to helping us win the Premier League.

Leo, one last time, showed why he's so deadly inside the box, once again linking up with Odegaard and drilling home from close range to give us all three points. It proved to be Leo's final Arsenal goal, and one that will never be forgotten by Gunners all over the world.
