Leeds United have taken Cardiff City’s head performance analyst Matthew Jenkins to add to Daniel Farke’s backroom staff this month.
The Whites are in the process of continuing to build on a highly successful Premier League return. Daniel Farke guided the side to 14th in the Premier League alongside an FA Cup semi-final, while the 49ers ought to be lauded for their influence in building the club too.
Now, the task is kicking on further and finally re-establishing United as one of the mainstays higher up in the Premier League. As ever, on-field and off-field improvements need to be made.

Jenkins ends eight years working at the South Wales club, and in that time, has been viewed as a very highly regarded analyst.
Brian Barry-Murphy took the role as head coach last summer in the Welsh capital. In the process, he was quickly impressed by Jenkins’ work.
“When I first came to the club, I didn’t know the workings of the club,” Barry-Murphy said. “So what I’ve been blessed with is Matt Jenks has been there for a long time. He’s Cardiff through and through and his level of work is of the highest quality.
“So one of the biggest things I wanted to do with the squad, with the staff, was to secure the numbers of staff who are exceptional at the job, which he is, and to make him really valuable.
“I’ve been very blessed to have Matt Jenks in the building to work alongside him and really, he’s blowing me away.”
Leeds United must continue growing on and off the field under the 49ers
This summer is a huge one for finding our feet once again. We need to become a team that can really start to look forward to being regulars in the top flight.
Our first season was about surviving by any means necessary. Our second season is about surviving before anything else, but laying the groundwork for a bright future is also crucial.
So, expanding the stadium is huge, as is strengthening Farke’s backroom staff with another highly-regarded member like Jenkins.
Add some ambitious signings and it’s exciting times ahead for Leeds.
