Konstantinos Mavropanos is pushing to leave West Ham United and return to the Premier League this summer amid Leeds United interest, sources have told Football Insider.

The centre-back is keen to continue playing at the highest possible level and does not see himself as a Championship player.

West Ham are expecting to find it very difficult to keep hold of the 28-year-old, given his desire to move on and the interest that is already building.

Mavropanos has interest across both the Bundesliga and the Premier League, with Football Insider recently revealing that Leeds United have "registered their interest" in him.

His former club Arsenal have also been linked with a return move for him in recent days, around four years after he departed the Emirates Stadium.

Mavropanos made 31 Premier League appearances last term, and was a standout performer for the Irons in an otherwise difficult season.

West Ham expect offers for Konstantinos Mavropanos

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday that West Ham are expecting to receive offers for Mavropanos imminently, such is the growing level of interest in him.

Nuno Espirito Santo and Co. are well aware that they are in for a difficult summer, as they aim to retain as much quality as possible after their relegation to the Championship.

However, they also have to strike the difficult balance between retaining quality and balancing their books for the drop in revenue.

Sources say that the East Londoners are "bracing" for offers for their star centre-back in the coming weeks, amid an expectation that clubs will move for him soon.

With clubs beginning to circle around the defender, West Ham are growing increasingly resigned to the idea of losing him ahead of next season.

Nuno finds 'missing piece of the puzzle' with new West Ham deal

Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness recently told Football Insider that Nuno has found the "missing piece of the puzzle" by reuniting with his long-time assistant Rui Pedro Silva.

The 49-year-old was recently added to the Irons' coaching staff, having worked with the boss at five different clubs previously.

Silva was by Nuno's side for his success at both Wolves and Nottingham Forest, and Wyness believes that he is like "another part of his brain."

The former boardroom man was adamant that Silva's arrival is hugely positive for West Ham, and only strengthens their chances of promotion next term.
