Ezri Konsa looking annoyed for England and Thomas Tuchel looking annoyed
The 28-year-old had started every game leading up to the semi-final after being the go-to man in the backline.
That saw him mainly feature as a centre-back before being challenged by playing on the right against Norway.
He did so to great effect and ultimately helped his side to victory despite being taken off before extra time.
That should have been enough to land himself a semi-final role from the start, but it wasn't to be.
Konsa was eventually thrown on against Argentina, but shouldn't be blamed for what went down.
How Thomas Tuchel disrespected Ezri Konsa vs Argentina
It was a bold move to drop your only true regular defender, but the Three Lions' boss did exactly that.
He may not have expected to be called upon less than 20 minutes later to replace the goalscorer.
That was the start of the end for England even if Konsa put up a 100 per cent pass completion and one defensive action.
Unfortunately, his introduction coincided with Argentina turning the game around, forcing the defender to get forward down the right.
He isn't an attacker, so can't be blamed for his one failed dribble attempt and zero per cent cross accuracy.
Konsa can't be used as a scapegoat for that failure as he simply isn't the type of player who should be put in that position.
That was a sign of disrespect from Tuchel to a centre-back who had been so key to everything good about the Three Lions this summer.
Aston Villa ace Konsa deserved more for England
The ex-Brentford man has been so good for so long in B6 and the England boss somehow can't see that.
He put up 28 defensive actions across the summer tournament and won 23 duels in that time.
His 18 clearances, four interceptions and three blocks sum up his performance, especially with 409 accurate passes with a 97 per cent accuracy under his belt.
The Villa man was still cast aside and left on the bench until Tuchel decided to throw the game away.
It's not good enough from the England boss and Konsa shouldn't cop any of the blame.
