Vaclav Cerny looking behind with his tongue out while playing for Besiktas and Rangers forward Findlay Curtis celebrating while playing for Scotland
Vaclav Cerny has been linked with a blockbuster return to Rangers this summer.
The Czechia forward, who now plays for Besiktas, became a fan favourite during his time in Govan.
Last summer, the Gers had the option to make his loan move from Wolfsburg permanent, but they decided against it.
Cerny could now return to Ibrox after a year at Besiktas, with Derek McInnes looking for reinforcements out wide to support the likes of Findlay Curits, Oliver Antman and Djeidi Gassama.
The 28-year-old winger formed an impressive attacking partnership with Cyriel Dessers at the Light Blues, ending the 2024-25 campaign as the second-highest goalscorer.
Primarily operating on the right-wing, the Czechia national's return could benefit the Glaswegian outfit in more than one way.
How Vaclav Cerny can help Findlay Curtis succeed at Rangers
Curtis goes into next season with a lot of expectations on his shoulders after an exceptional loan spell with Kilmarnock.
McInnes is expected to give the Scotland international plenty of opportunities at Ibrox, but it may be too soon to put him under pressure.
The 20-year-old shouldn't be forced into being one of the main creative outlets at the Glaswegian outfit in the upcoming campaign, and that's where Cerny could come in.
Former Gers defender and BBC Sportscene pundit Richard Foster believes the Besiktas forward could serve as a mentor for Curtis.
The Czechia attacker can take the mantle at the Govan side since he has been there, done that.
Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard on 14 July, Foster said: "Curtis comes back into the fold. I would like to see him play more games. But at his age, it's a big ask to go out and be the main man for Rangers.
"With Cerny coming back, he has been there. His goals and assists are fantastic. So he knows what the expectations are. He's a bit older, more mature, so he can probably cope with that pressure because he has already. I think Curtis could probably learn a lot from Cerny."
If the Gers sign the winger, his full focus will be on his club career, and they won't have to worry about him picking up an injury while playing for Czechia.
After Mikey Moore's departure, the Light Blues clearly lack dynamism and threat from out wide.
Curtis can undoubtedly learn a lot from Cerny and instead of being thrown into the fire, McInnes can gradually integrate the youngster into the starting lineup.
The Besiktas forward's return to Ibrox would certainly generate a lot of fanfare, but it remains to be seen whether a deal could go through.
