Tarik Muharemovic is edging ever closer to completing his move to Leeds United from Sassuolo.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina international fast emerged as a target for the Whites in the past week.

Leeds have been searching for a new defender after agreeing to sell Pascal Struijk to Brighton.

The club's hierarchy wanted Struijk to sign a new deal at Elland Road, but cut a £20million deal once it became evident he would not agree to new terms.

That left just Jaka Bijol, Joe Rodon, and Sebastiaan Bornauw as options in the centre of defence, with Daniel Farke employed a 3-5-2 system last season.

But it now appears a matter of when, not if, Muharemovic will sign on the dotted line to complete his move to Leeds.

What's the latest with Tarik Muharemovic's move to Leeds?

MOT Leeds News covered this week how Muharemovic was to have a medical with Leeds this week.

Now Graham Smyth has provided a further update on his medical ahead of completing a move to Elland Road.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reporter took to X to reveal that Muharemovic is jetting in to Leeds on Thursday.

He will complete his £34million move to Elland Road, with Leeds seeing off reported competition from Premier League rivals Sunderland and Bournemouth for his signature.

Smyth added that Muharemovic will become the most expensive signing of the 49ers Enterprises era.
