AS Roma face Aston Villa threat in the chase for West Ham United‘s Crysencio Summerville this summer.
The Serie A side earlier showed interest but walked away after refusing to meet his €6m per year salary. As of now, no club has met his demands, and his representatives are having to reconsider.
Earlier this week, the winger’s agent travelled to re-establish contact with the Italian club. Aston Villa have now joined them in the race to sign the 24-year-old.
Aston Villa keen on West Ham attacker
That’s according to Sky Italia, who mention Aston Villa when covering the latest on the Giallorossi.
In the last 48 hours, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have accelerated to sign the Netherlands international, by making a significant offer to his agent. There’s no mention of a figure, and they are awaiting his answer.
If Crysencio Summerville’s response is positive, AS Roma are ready to submit a €48m bid to West Ham.
However, the Premier League remains attentive, ‘particularly Aston Villa’, who have a strong interest.
Unai Emery’s side are ready to provide tough competition to the Italian club and are one of their main rivals.
Roma have made an offer while the Europa League winners are monitoring the attacker’s situation. The Villans have to act quickly and make concrete advances if they want to win the transfer race.
Aston Villa and Roma awaiting player’s decision
The Dutchman will return from Miami on Thursday and then meet with his agent to evaluate his options.
Sky Italia state the player should decide in the next few hours, and both Aston Villa and Roma are waiting for his response.
Crysencio Summerville’s contract lasts until 2029, and Transfermarkt value him at €35m. His next move is unclear, but what seems certain is that he will leave West Ham, after their relegation to the Championship.
Last season, he managed five goals and two assists from 31 Premier League matches.
