Carlisle-born White has joined his former loan club Crewe Alexandra on a two-year deal.
The move sees 23-year-old White end his decade-long spell with Newcastle in order to further his first-team career.
The Cumbrian joined Newcastle's academy from Carlisle United in 2016 and progressed to the professional ranks.

The England Under-18 international, who is the grandson of the late former Carlisle United player, coach and physio and Workington Reds manager Peter Hampton, made a number of loan moves during his senior stint at St James' Park.
Since 2022 he has had loan spells at Hartlepool United, Exeter City, Crewe, MK Dons, Leyton Orient and Bradford City.
He made four substitute appearances for his parent club in the Premier League in 2024, in games against AFC Bournemouth, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace.
He now heads back to Crewe, where he enjoyed a positive loan spell in 2023/24, making 25 appearances and scoring three goals.
"Everybody at Crewe Alexandra would like to welcome Joe back to the Club and wish him luck for the future," said the Railwaymen in a statement.
Newcastle added: "Everybody at Newcastle United would like to wish Joe well for the future."
