Leeds now eyeing move to sign 6 ft 4 colossus after Muharemovic - journalist

It has been all change in the goalkeeping department at Leeds United this summer following two exits.

Former No.1 Illan Meslier bid farewell to Elland Road following the conclusion of his contract on June 30, with the Frenchman last week securing a move to Arsenal as cover for David Raya.

Karl Darlow, who finished last season as the main man between the sticks, also left at the end of his contract, joining Manchester United on a contract until the summer of 2028.

Daniel Farke and Leeds now have to bring in a new goalkeeper ahead of the new term as they currently only have Lucas Perri as a senior first-team option with their Premier League opener away at Nottingham Forest now just over a month away.

Leeds target Greek ace

Konstantinos Tzolakis

Leeds are one of five clubs targeting a move for Olympiacos goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis this summer, according to journalist Konstantinos Lianos.

Tzolakis has made quite a name in his homeland over the past couple of seasons since becoming first choice for the Greek club in the 2024/25 campaign.

The 23-year-old appears that he will have plenty of options to choose from if a move away from Olympiacos comes to fruition before the transfer deadline.

Lianos reports that Leeds, Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, Hull City and Coventry City are the five clubs keen on a deal for Tzolakis, who sees his Olympiacos contract expire next summer.

Hull, who have already signed Jack Butland as a replacement for Ivor Pandur who moved to Rangers, are reportedly ahead in the race to sign Tzolakis.

It is claimed that Aston Villa will only move for the shot-stopper if Emiliano Martinez departs Villa Park this summer.

Experienced Tzolakis

Tzolakis may only be 23 years of age but he would bring plenty of experience to Leeds United.

Since making his debut for Olympiacos back in 2019, the Greece international has made 131 appearances in all competitions for his club side and also represented them in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League in that time.

Tzolakis was in fact the goalkeeper for Olympiacos' Conference League triumph in 2024 as they beat Fiorentina 1-0 in the final.

Last season, the goalkeeper made nine Champions League appearances for his club, playing against the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Arsenal in the group phase of the competition.

Due to his age, Tzolakis, who so far has nine international caps to his name for Greece, could become Leeds' No.1 for years to come but that will all be dependent on them winning the race for his signature with Hull out in front at present.
