Leeds United are making progress in their bid to sign Tarik Muharemovic and have agreed personal terms with the Sassuolo defender.
That’s according to Sky Sports News who claim the Whites have reached a ‘total agreement’ with the Italian outfit, in a deal they say will be worth up to £34million.
They also claimed the centre-back is today flying to England to have his medical as he closes in on becoming the club’s second signing of the summer, after the eye-catching free transfer for Harry Wilson.
The Bosnia & Herzegovina international will fill the hole vacated by the departure of Pascal Struijk who left for Brighton & Hove Albion.
At 23, Leeds will hope he offers longevity and higher peak levels than Struijk. Like any new signing, he will need time to adapt and it is not clear whether a deal will be done by the time the squad fly out to the US for their pre-season tour on Tuesday.
Muharemovic played in all but six of Sassuolo’s 38 Serie A matches last term as they finished 11th having helped them to promotion the previous year.
