'I’m really excited' - Tractor Girls make winger their twelfth signing of summer

The 22-year-old joins the Tractor Girls on a two-year deal after spending the previous two seasons in the West Midlands.

McGowan started her career in Chelsea’s academy before making the move to Charlton Athletic in July 2022, where she made her first senior appearances in the second tier.

She earned a move to Birmingham in 2024, where she made 17 appearances in her first campaign at St. Andrew's as the Blues narrowly missed out on promotion to the WSL, before spending the second half of last season with Southampton.

The former Welsh U18 international departed Birmingham at the end of 2025/26 as they won the WSL 2 title.

“The club’s ambitions match my own," McGowan said. "The style of play suits my game well too.

“I know some of the girls here already which helps when joining a new club, and I’m really excited to get to work.”

Sean Burt, Town Women’s Technical Director, said: “As soon as we knew Tegan was available this summer, we knew we wanted to bring her to Ipswich.

“She’s a proven player at this level for a number of seasons and we’ve seen first hand at Portman Road just how effective she can be.

“Tegan is another player who will excite fans in wide areas and we’re really looking forward to seeing the impact she can make across the next two years.”
