Swedish side BK Häcken are on the verge of announcing the signing of Super Falcons striker Joy Omewa, who is currently a free agent following her release by Nottingham Forest.
According to Swedish outlet SVT, Häcken has finalized the deal with Nigeria national team forward Omewa.
She is expected to switch to the Damallsvenskan after impressing during her brief spell with Nottingham Forest in the Women's Championship.
Omewa joined the English side during the winter transfer window and quickly established herself as an important attacking option, scoring three goals in nine league appearances.
Her impressive performances are understood to have caught the attention of Häcken, who have reportedly moved swiftly to secure her signature ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
The club identified the 23-year-old as a key addition to bolster their attacking options following the departure of Felicia Schröder to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The report adds that Häcken view Omewa as a player capable of filling the void left by Schröder and strengthening the squad for the new campaign.
However, Omewa is currently focused on representing Nigeria, having been named in the Super Falcons squad for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, where she will be aiming to continue her impressive form on the continental stage.
