All you need to know about Manchester United's transfer plans after completing three signings...
United announced the midfield signings of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans earlier in the week. The club plans to add a third midfield signing before the end of the window, and there is scope to spend fairly big.
However, the Reds will not overspend for the sake of it. The third midfield signing must be available for a fair fee, but United are in a position to sign a high-quality player to further strengthen Michael Carrick's options.
Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott and Borussia Dortmund star Felix Nmecha are two players on the club's radar. Roma midfielder Manu Kone has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
United have considered their options to strengthen the left side of the squad. They have looked at left-backs and left wingers, but whether they sign a player for the latter role could depend on Marcus Rashford's future.
Rashford is set to report for United's pre-season once he enjoys a break after the World Cup, and United are fine with the possibility of him returning after positive talks.
Carrick has played with Rashford, coached him, and briefly managed him. In April, the Old Trafford boss suggested the door was open for Rashford to return at a press conference. Rashford recently insisted he would not address his future until after the World Cup and with England now out of the tournament - albeit they still have a third-place match to play - he is a step closer to discovering where his future lies.
Should Rashford be offloaded, West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville is being monitored this summer. He starred for the Netherlands at the World Cup and could be on the move after the Irons' relegation.
United are considering a striker signing to support Benjamin Sesko next season. Sesko is currently the only recognised striker in the squad, but the Reds would not spend big on a back-up forward.
United will make sales before the end of the transfer window. Altay Bayindir is set to leave, while Joshua Zirkzee's future is uncertain. Toby Collyer will also receive clarity on his future once United settle on their midfield options.
