Hull City are in the running to bring Eren Mert to the MKM Stadium as they look to beef up their recruitment team following the departure of sporting director Jared Dublin last week.
Mert had been working in the Turkish Super Lig at former champions Trabzonspor, but opted to leave Papara Park after three years as their chief scout.
It's thought that Mert has interest from other clubs, but HullLive understands the Tigers are keen to snap up the 43-year-old and believe they have an advantage over potential rivals.
City, who are close to appointing former Fenerbahce transfer man Okan Ozkan in the coming days as Dublin's replacement, are working to add more experience of the markets across the globe to their group, to work closely with the existing head of recruitment, Martin Hodge, as they look to bolster Sergej Jakirovic's squad for the new Premier League season.

Reports in Turkey suggest Trabzonspor head coach Fatih Tekke is keen to bring in his own man, with Mert highlighting the need to work in a 'harmonious' environment as a reason for stepping down in a social media post.
"As of today, I have decided to step down from my position at Trabzonspor Club, a role I have carried out with great honour," he wrote on social media. "Throughout my tenure, I strove to dedicate my knowledge, experience, and hard work to the club in the best possible way.
"However, given the current circumstances - where a harmonious working environment no longer appears feasible - I have concluded that it would not be right to continue in my role. I extend my sincere thanks to the honourable president, all stakeholders of the Trabzonspor community, and especially the great Trabzonspor fans for the favour and regard they have shown me. The love and support they demonstrated have always been deeply meaningful to me. I wholeheartedly wish Trabzonspor success in the future; for parting ways is also part of the love we share. Farewell."
