João Palhinha could be back in the Premier League next season, with Aston Villa are currently discussing a potential move.

Fabrizio Romano reports that coach Unai Emery and the club's management are reportedly discussing whether to submit an offer.

Romano stated that there have been no talks with Bayern Munich so far, while The Athletic adds that Villa are considering a loan.

The online portal goes even further, reporting that the Birmingham club are already in talks with the midfielder about such a move.

Meanwhile, Teamtalk confirms the negotiations but doesn't mention a loan deal being the goal for the Villains who finished fourth last season.

Instead, Villa are hoping to sign the defensive midfielder permanently for around €23.5million. which would likely suit Bayern's interest as well.

Palhinha, who spent last campaign on loan at Tottenham Hotspur, is on the Bayern's transfer list despite having a contract until 2028.

Benfica Lisbon's recent efforts to sign him look likely to collapse due to the high overall cost of the transfer package for the 31-year-old.
