Two in at Everton Women and two extended

Scott Phelan has made his first moves in the transfer window since being named the permanent Everton Women manager with the signing of France U-23 international forward Noémie Mouchon, who joins on a free transfer from Leicester City.

The 23-year-old began her career at childhood club Lille before making the move to Reims following a prolific four years in northern France.

A impressive campaign at Reims saw the attacker claim the Premiere Ligue Player of the Month trophy in April 2024, with Mouchon’s performances for France’s youth sides on the international stage earning her a reputation as one of Europe’s hottest prospects.

A switch to the Foxes followed in July 2024, and Mouchon notched her first goal in the WSL against the Toffees at the King Power Stadium last October, before finding the back of the net against European champions Arsenal.

Her performances at the end-of-season World Sevens tournament in London also caught the eye as the former Lille star netted against both the Toffees and Chelsea.

The acquisition of Mouchon follows the news that Everton Women have elected to formally activate the option to make Zara Kramžar a permanent addition to the Goodison ranks, in line with the terms of the initial loan agreement with AS Roma when the Slovenian signed in February 2026.

Making seven WSL appearances in a more positive second half of the season, Kramžar showed her worth for Phelan’s side, who won four consecutive league fixtures across February and March, before securing a last-gasp win against Leicester at Goodison Park in their season finale.

The 20-year-old Slovenian, who joins for an undisclosed fee, will definitely be lining up next season with Aurora Galli and club captain Megan Finnigan, both of whom put pen to paper to contract extensions this week.

With six players already set to depart once their contracts expire, the Toffees have activated a one-year contract option for Galli - who became the Women’s Super League’s first-ever Italian player after joining the Blues from Juventus in July 2021 - until the end of June 2027.

The gifted midfielder has endured a torrid time with injuries, most notably an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury on the opening day of the 2024/25 campaign, but worked tirelessly behind the scenes to return before the end of the same season.

And Galli’s dedication was crucial Everton’s upturn in form this year, and netted in consecutive Merseyside derbies.

Last but not least is the news that Finnigan has also signed a new one-year Everton contract until the end of June 2027 – which will see the club captain extend her stay to surpass 20 years with the Blues.

Joining the Toffees at nine, the commanding centre-back progressed through the youth ranks to make her senior debut in 2015.

The 28-year-old has since made more than 200 appearances in royal blue and was given the captain’s armband ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Finnigan missed the Toffees’ historic inaugural season at Goodison Park through injury, but remained a key figure in the dressing room and at the club’s training ground and will be keen to lead her team out at the Grand Old Lady next season.
