Aston Villa are interested in Manchester United transfer targets Manu Kone and Crysencio Summerville after selling Youri Tielemans. The latter has made the move between the two Premier League clubs after the £35million release clause in his contract, which had just 12 months remaining, was activated.
Old Trafford chiefs swiftly moved on the Belgium international after opting against signing Ederson. United have also confirmed the signings of Andrey Santos and Karl Darlow with another midfield addition wanted and a left winger also set to be targeted.
Kone and Summerville appear to be among the top choices for those two positions but Villa are interested in signing both, according to Italian outlet Sports Media Set. With Kone playing for AS Roma and Summerville a target for the Serie A side, their report states Villa are looking at the former as their replacement for Tielemans.
United still appear favourites to sign Kone, who is expected to depart Italy this summer, but Summerville's future remains up for debate with those at Villa Park said to be 'keenly interested’.
Villa are looking at other midfield targets and have agreed to sign Wolves' Joao Gomes after his proposed move to Atletico Madrid fell through with talks also on to bring in Joao Palhinha on loan. The Europa League winners need to strengthen in midfield after selling Tielemans and following Amadou Onana's recent ACL injury.
Unai Emery's side have already hijacked Newcastle's deal for Johan Manzambi, who had a superb World Cup campaign for Switzerland.

United were also linked to the Freiburg star but seemingly have decisions to make on their own players before moving for other targets.
That applies to a potential move for Summerville with The Guardian reporting they will make a formal move for the West Ham and Dutch winger if Marcus Rashford leaves.

The United academy graduate spent last season on-loan at Barcelona and had ambitions of joining permanently but that now looks unlikely following the arrivals of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi at the Catalan club.
As things stand, Rashford will report to Carrington for pre-season but only after a minimum four-week break following his participation at the World Cup with England.
Kone will also have a period of time away from football after playing a prominent role in France's World Cup campaign. He will come head-to-head with Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo in the third-place play-off this Saturday.
