Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario continues to be heavily linked with a move to Juventus.
Tottenham Hotspur have been super active in the ongoing transfer window so far, signing some key players.
The arrivals of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali have grabbed the headlines, while the likes of Marco Senesi, Andy Robertson and Jan Paul van Hecke have tightened up the screws at the back. We have also snapped up veteran goalkeeper Martin Dubravka on a free transfer from Burnley in the wake of Guglielmo Vicario’s potential departure.

After enduring an inconsistent recent campaign, Spurs look set to part ways with Guglielmo Vicario. Roberto De Zerbi was impressed with Antonin Kinsky across the last seven games during the relegation run-in last season and is expected to promote him as the club’s new No.1, moving on from Vicario in the process.
Guglielmo Vicario in touch with Juventus boss
Juventus have emerged as a possible destination for Vicario since May. The Turin giants’ primary goalkeeper target remains Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, with Vicario deemed as an alternative. However, with Aston Villa not interested in selling Martinez this summer, the Serie A side could shift their focus to the Tottenham man.
Tottenham’s asking price for the Italian international is being considered ‘highly negotiable’, something that should encourage Juventus to go for him. Now, according to a report from Calciomercato, there has been ‘direct contact’ between Juventus boss Luciano Spalletti and Vicario. Contacts between the parties have continued recently, which should go down as a good sign in the Tottenham camp.

Vicario is surplus to De Zerbi’s requirements at Spurs after the signing of Dubravka. A move back to Serie A looks increasingly likely for the 29-year-old and the best outcome for all parties involved. The Lilywhites want to move him off the books, ideally permanently, and having been open to negotiating the €15m asking price, Juve would feel the time is right to pull the trigger.
Spalletti neither trusts Michele Di Gregorio nor Mattia Perin in goal. Juve found no consistency whatsoever between the sticks last season, and Spalletti wants to address this grave problem with a new face this summer. The Italian tactician being in contact with Vicario could be to present the project and tempt him to join Juve.
