Official: Lagos-born Super Falcons-eligible midfielder signs first pro deal with PSG

Through a statement on the official website, Paris Saint-Germain have announced that Super Falcons-eligible midfielder Oluchi Basil has signed her first professional contract with the Première Ligue outfit.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, sixteen years ago, Oluchi now has a contract with PSG until 2029, having put pen to paper on a three-year contract.

The 16-year-old turned out for Saint-Yves, Metallo Sport Chantenay, Nantes Métropole Futsal and FC Nantes, before transferring to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2025 to become part of the club's academy.

Since arriving at PSG, the talented midfielder has impressed with her technical quality, tireless work rate and attacking flair, capped by a goal in the 2026 Nike U18 Women's Cup final that helped the club secure the title after a penalty shootout victory.

Commenting on her new deal, the highly-rated youngster thanked the French giants for placing their faith in her and vowed to continue working hard as she begins the next chapter of her career.

"It is a great honour to sign my first professional contract with Paris Saint-Germain. I would like to thank the Club for the trust it has placed in me, as well as everyone who supports me every day," Oluchi said.

"I will continue to work hard to improve and give my very best for this shirt. Let's keep growing together and winning trophies. The best is yet to come."

Super Falcons midfielders Jennifer Echegini and Rasheedat Ajibade are currently on the books of Paris Saint-Germain.
