Newcastle United & Aston Villa in fresh transfer battle as right-back available for £14m -…

A look at the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours.

Right-backs Kieran Trippier and Emil Krafth left the Magpies at the end of their contracts last season, while Tino Livramento is currently sidelined with a calf injury and isn’t expected to return for another few weeks.

It leaves Lewis Hall as the club’s only senior full-back available, with under-21s players such as Leo Shahar set to get an opportunity to impress during pre-season.

It should therefore come as little surprise that Newcastle have been linked with signing a right-back and left-back in the last 24 hours. Here are the latest rumours:

Newcastle United & Aston Villa interested in Belgium left-back

Newcastle and Aston Villa are interested in Club Brugge left-back Joaquin Seys, according to Voetbal Primeur.

Villa too are in the market for a full-back with Lucas Digne on the brink of completing a move to French and European champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Portuguese giants Porto and Benfica have long tracked Seys and are reportedly willing to pay £17million, however Brugge want closer to £30million for their academy graduate.

The 20-year-old represented Belgium at the World Cup and was praised for the way he performed up against Spain’s Lamine Yamal, despite the game ending in a 2-1 defeat.

Newcastle United & Nottingham Forest enquire about Serie A right-back

As per Viola News, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest have enquired about signing right-back Dodo from Fiorentina.

The Serie A club want to cash in on the 27-year-old as he is out of contract next summer. They have already signed his replacement, bringing in Alex Jimenez on a season-long deal from AFC Bournemouth, which includes a £17million option to buy.

With discussions with Napoli, Roma and Inter Milan failing to materialise into anything concrete, interest has now reportedly emerged from the Premier League.

It’s claimed Dodo, who has spent four years in Florence after joining from FC Shakhtar Donetsk, is available for around £14million.
