Match preview: Arsenal XI (H)

**Our pre-season campaign continues tomorrow with our annual clash with the Gunners as we welcome an Arsenal XI to Meadow Park.**

### 2025/26 review

Max Porter’s young Gunners finished 14th in Premier League 2 last term, earning themselves qualification for the Premier League 2 Play-Offs. Unfortunately, they were eliminated at the round of 16 stage following a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City’s under-21’s.

Following last season, the North London side will be looking to climb further up the Premier League 2 table under new management this coming term.

### One to watch

Born in Barnet, Andre Harriman-Annous began his football journey with Whetstone Wanderers before spending time in Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-academy and later joining Arsenal’s academy in 2016. A product of the Gunners’ highly regarded youth system, he has impressed across the Premier League 2, FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League, earning first-team training opportunities before making his senior debut in pre-season during 2025.

Harriman-Annous made his competitive debut in the Carabao Cup later that year before playing 9 minutes in the Gunners’ 3-0 win away at Slavia Prague in the UEFA Champions League. Primarily a striker, the 18-year-old is also capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or winger and racked up an impressive 8 G/A during the 2025/26 Premier League 2 campaign.

### Previous meetings

The Gunners are a regular pre-season clash for the Wood with the last meeting between the two sides coming in preparation for the 2025/26 campaign and ending in a 2-2 draw.

The Wood took the lead inside two minutes through Matt Rush before the Gunners responded with two goals, courtesy of Alex Marciniak and Maalik Hashi. Luke Garrard’s men would then equalise late on, Junior Dixon with a powerful strike into the bottom left corner of the Arsenal XI net.
