Although Atletico don't wish to sell, they are currently more inclined to do business with a non-LaLiga rival.
Barcelona haven't ruled out making a new bid, though, and there are provisions for select Champions League clubs to sign him for less than his €500million clause.
Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi is another profile on Arsenal's transfer shortlist.
He is also appreciated by Tottenham Hotspur and several other top clubs, but Bournemouth hope to keep for at least another season.
Arsenal's Bradley Barcola appreciation remains, though Liverpool are more active currently.
Paris Saint-Germain could still become open to a sale this summer, as previously reported.

In midfield, Arsenal continue to be linked with a big-money move for Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes.
The Brazilian international has informed the Magpies of his desire to join the north Londoners having agreed terms with them.
Arsenal have also agreed a deal worth £34m to sign Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge.
Tzolis is set to arrive as the club's replacement for Leandro Trossard, who has joined Besiktas in a £17m move.
Illan Meslier has joined as a new goalkeeper option following his exit from Leeds United.
Piero Hincapie has also completed a permanent move to Arsenal after an initial loan spell from Bayer Leverkusen last season.
