52% of polled West Ham fans think club should demand up to £40m for outgoing star amid Leeds…

We've had mixed messages all week regarding the future of Konstantinos Mavropanos.

At first it was reported the club were hopeful he would agree to stay after telling the Greek defender and several other first team players that they were expected to remain at the club.

But now it's being reported that West Ham have accepted that the former Arsenal centre-back will be sold before the transfer window closes.

Leeds United are the latest club to have registered an interest in the 28-year-old.

Mavropanos left Stuttgart to join the Hammers for £19m in August 2023.

His first two seasons saw him become known for a bit of a calamity defender, but it was last season in which he really came into his own and proved his quality.

The Greece international scored three goals in 31 Premier League games and developed a solid partnership alongside loanee Axel Disasi.

It was his form in the second half of last season which convinced fans that he would be a solid asset to have in the Championship, and it was hopeful he would agree to stay and help get the club back into the top-flight at the first time of asking.

But it looks like that hope is now wearing thin, with Mavropanos looking increasingly likely to be heading towards the London Stadium exit door in the coming weeks.

How much is Mavropanos worth?

As yet, there is no indication of how much West Ham would be willing to accept for Mavropanos' services.

The defender has two years left on his £50k-a-week contract.

It's fair to say the Hammers are in a good position to make a profit on the £19m they paid for his signature three years ago.

But much is he really worth?

We asked our readers what they thought earlier this week there's a bit of a split in opinion.

Of the 159 fans who took part in the poll, 52% believe he's worth between £30m and £40m, while 42% think he's only worth between £20m and £30m.

A surprising 6% insist the club can demand up to £50m for the defender.
