As first reported by Andrea Peláez Marzo from COPE, Arsenal Women are on the verge of signing Spanish goalkeeper Misa Rodriguez.
Misa left Real Madrid at the end of last season at the conclusion of her contract, leaving as their record appearance maker with 215 appearances. Misa is a Spanish international and fighting for the number 1 spot with Barcelona goalkeeper Cata Coll.
The move comes as a surprise with Anneke Borbe and Daphne van Domselaar in the squad, but first choice van Domselaar has been dogged by injuries over the last three seasons and missed the most recent Netherlands squad due to a persistent injury which she has struggled with for a while now.
Marca reports that she wants to test herself in a different league. Our information is that this move is very close and expected to go through. Misa is currently a free agent with her Madrid contract now expired.
