Ibrahim Mbaye could be on his way to the Premier League and Manchester City

According to recent reports, Enzo Maresca's Manchester City is interested in signing PSG youngster Ibrahim Mbaye this summer. The 18-year-old represented Senegal at the 2026 World Cup, making four appearances in their Round of 32 run and scored against France in the opener. He delivered good performances, proving all his potential during the tournament, which likely opened the door to many clubs for him.

Mbaye who has already drawn the interests of several Premier League clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa is reportedly looking for an exit from PSG and the club is open to let him leave the club if a good offer comes. Mbaye's current market value is at €30 millions and the club could be ready to listen to offers in that range.

Last season, he struggled for minutes despite a promising start of the season, ultimately, he featured in 31 games and contributed to three goals and two assists, all coming in Ligue 1. Unfortunately for him, it is incredibly difficult to break into the starting lineup at his position with the likes of Désiré Doué, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Bradley Barcola who could be on his way out of the club this summer.

Letting Mbaye go could be a massive mistake that PSG can afford it

As stated earlier, it has been very difficult for Ibrahim Mbaye to break into the first team and earn regular minutes under Luis Enrique at PSG. The players ahead of him in the hierarchy on the wings is quite simply incredibile and one of the biggest reasons why this team managed to win two Champions League consecutively.

Despite being only 18 years old, he has already shown that he incredibly talented in his several cameos with the club. His performance against Barcelona at the beginning of the season helped his team secure an important victory at the Camp Nou. Nonetheless, it will not be a big loss for PSG to let Mbaye go to Manchester City this summer.

With enough guidance and playing time, he has everything to become one of the best at his position in the future, therefore, it wouldn't be damaging to see him blossom elsewhere. The club has so many options and potential at this position that they can afford to let another PSG Academy player go.

Furthermore, the club has been linked to both Maghnes Akliouche and Yan Diomande this summer and selling Mbaye would potentially help fund these two moves.
