The transfer window is gathering pace for Liverpool and their Premier League rivals as the 2026/27 season quickly approaches. One of the priorities for the Reds over the next few weeks will be to bring in a wide player as a replacement for Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian announced at the end of last season that he was leaving the club in the summer. It brought a nine-year stay at Anfield to an end, with Liverpool left looking for someone to fill the role.

They have been linked with several names. With the World Cup coming to an end, things appear to be moving, with a possible domino effect involving Liverpool, taking place.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest over the search for a winger.

Olise 'stuns' Bayern

Michael Olise has told Bayern Munich that he wants to leave the club this summer - and join Real Madrid, according to French outlet Foot Mercato. The Frenchman has been one of the standout players at the World Cup and continues his impressive form for Bayern on the international stage.

Liverpool have been linked with an interest in the former Crystal Palace man as a potential Mohamed Salah replacement, but the presence of Real Madrid and Bayern’s asking price will both be major stumbling blocks.

The report adds that the German champions will demand at least €200million (£170million) to even consider cashing in. They are, however, looking at potential replacements should they lose him, with Liverpool-linked Bradley Barcola one of the names mentioned.

Liverpool contingency plan

Liverpool have made contact over a possible transfer for Bournemouth winger Rayan, according to TEAMtalk. The Brazilian is reportedly being lined up as an alternative should the club be unsuccessful in their pursuit of both Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola.

Diomande was a key target for Liverpool, but the player has made it clear that he is keen on joining Paris Saint-Germain from RB Leipzig. Should that move go through, that could open the door for Barcola to join Liverpool from PSG.

But L'Equipe reports that PSG have put a £128million price tag on Barcola. It's also been recently reported that the French giants have decided against letting the winger leave, even if they do sign Diomande this summer.

Liverpool are therefore said to be eyeing alternatives. Bournemouth's Rayan is one of the names linked along with Brighton's Yankuba Minteh, Cologne's Said El Mala, Lille's Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Everton's Iliman Ndiaye.
