Nicolo Zaniolo and Udinese are yet to agree on his salary despite the club having signed the attacker from Galatasaray, creating an unusual situation in Serie A. The uncertainty surrounding his contract has attracted attention from Juventus, who continue to monitor developments.
The two parties are reportedly around 500,000 euros per year apart in their salary negotiations, leaving Zaniolo’s future unresolved. As a result, the attacker has kept the door open to joining another club should a suitable opportunity arise during the current transfer window.
Juventus continue to monitor the situation
Juventus have maintained a long-standing interest in Zaniolo and would welcome the chance to bring him to the Allianz Stadium. The Bianconeri regard him as one of the leading attacking players in Serie A and believe he could make a positive impact if he joined the squad.
According to Sport Mediaset, Juventus are no longer alone in pursuing the attacker, with AC Milan also entering the race. The report adds that the Rossoneri are currently ahead of the Bianconeri after Ruben Amorim expressed a desire to work with Zaniolo this summer.
The growing interest from another major Italian club could increase the competition for the player’s signature if his contract situation with Udinese remains unresolved.
Milan provides fresh competition
Zaniolo is also believed to be open to a move to Turin if Juventus decide to pursue a deal. However, the Bianconeri now face the prospect of competing with AC Milan, who are reportedly making strong progress in their efforts to sign the attacker.
Although Juventus have several other transfer targets, Zaniolo remains a player they admire and would like to add to their squad. Even so, the club are unlikely to become overly concerned if they are unable to complete a deal, given the number of alternatives they continue to assess during the transfer window.
The coming weeks are expected to determine whether Zaniolo resolves his contract situation with Udinese or whether another club takes advantage of the uncertainty surrounding his future.
