Arthur Melo remains part of the Juventus squad, but the club are determined to end his spell in Turin during the current transfer window after struggling to move him on over the past several seasons.
The Brazilian midfielder spent last season on loan at Gremio, where he produced encouraging performances. However, the Brazilian club were unable to afford a permanent transfer and could not reach an agreement with Juventus over another loan deal, bringing his return to Turin.
Arthur would reportedly have preferred to remain at Gremio, but he has returned to Juventus hoping to prove that he can still contribute under Luciano Spalletti. Despite that ambition, the Bianconeri continue to view his departure as a priority this summer.
Juventus sets clear transfer conditions
Juventus are looking to reshape their squad and believe they must offload players such as Arthur before making further additions. The club want to strengthen with higher quality options, making the midfielder one of the players available for transfer.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus have established firm conditions for Arthur’s departure. The report states that the club will only consider a permanent transfer or a loan agreement that includes an obligation to complete a permanent signing at the end of the spell.
The Bianconeri are not willing to accept a standard loan or a loan containing only an option to buy. They want any agreement to guarantee that Arthur leaves the club permanently, rather than returning once again.
Midfielder faces uncertain future
Arthur’s future will now depend on whether a club is prepared to meet Juventus’ demands. While he remains eager to continue his career at the highest level, any interested side must be willing to agree to the terms set by Juve.
Juventus believe those conditions are necessary if they are to move forward with their plans for the squad. Securing Arthur’s departure would create space for new arrivals and help the club continue rebuilding under Spalletti ahead of the new season.
The coming weeks will determine whether Juventus can finally resolve Arthur’s long-running situation or whether the midfielder will remain in Turin beyond the end of the transfer window.
