Manchester United have had a productive transfer window with three signings thus far.
They have bolstered their midfield with Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, while adding another back-up goalkeeper in Karl Darlow.
The focus could now shift to the attacking department. A left winger could be a realistic possibility, particularly if Marcus Rashford makes way.
Let’s have a look at three left wingers Man Utd could pursue.
Crysencio Summerville – West Ham United
The Dutchman had a relatively good 2025/26 season with the Hammers, with 12 goal contributions. He primarily played from the left wing for the east London side.
The former Leeds United man was a surprise entry into the Netherlands’ World Cup squad, and he made a big mark with two goals and two assists before their round of 32 exit.
The Guardian reported yesterday that Summerville could depart West Ham for £30 million, but the Hammers may demand £43m or more after his World Cup exploits.
United have been frequently linked with the 24-year-old. He appears the likely candidate to join the club if Rashford were to head for the exit door in the coming weeks.
Ferran Torres – Barcelona
Torres’ future is uncertain due to his contract situation. The Spaniard’s Barcelona deal expires in June next year, and the club are reluctant to prolong his stay due to a clause.
As part of his transfer from Manchester City, Barcelona will have to fork out another £6.8 million if they trigger the option to keep him for another 12 months until June 2028.
As a result, the versatile forward, signed for an initial £47 million, has been put up for sale. United could see the Spaniard as a market opportunity, given his quality credentials.
Torres primarily played as a striker for the Blaugrana, netting 21 goals last term. Five of those came from the left wing. He is equally comfortable from the right and would be a fantastic signing for United.
Gabriel Martinelli – Arsenal
Martinelli has emerged as a surprise target for United, as per Calciomercato. The Brazilian played second fiddle to Leandro Trossard, but still fared well with 18 goal involvements.
His Champions League campaign was quite impressive with six goals and two assists. After winning the league title, the Brazilian went on to play a meaningful part at the World Cup.
He scored the winning goal during the 2-1 win over Japan in the round of 32. Martinelli’s future is currently uncertain at Arsenal despite the departure of Trossard to Besiktas.
Arsenal are aiming to reshuffle their left wing with a couple of new signings. Martinelli has vast league experience, and United could prise him away from Arsenal for around £38m.
