Aston Villa Women sign Norway international defender Mathilde Harviken from Juventus.
The centre-back made almost 50 appearances for Juve, featuring in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and winning domestic honours.
Harviken also made more than 80 appearances for Rosenborg and helped them lift the Norwegian Cup in 2023.
She represented Norway at both the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and UEFA Women’s EURO 2025.
Harviken told avfc.co.uk: “It’s a really good opportunity to join a club with such a big history. There are great facilities here and everything you need to perform and continue developing as a player.”
Marisa Ewers, Director of Women’s Football, said: “Mathilde is a player we’ve been tracking for over two years and we’ve been consistently impressed by her development. She has a lot of experience for her age and we believe she has all the attributes to make an impact here and continue developing. We’re excited to see what she can bring to the team.”
