OLIVIER KAPO had enjoyed a colourful career – including a period with Italian giants Juventus – by the time he turned up at Celtic.
The attacking midfielder spent a mere three months at Parkhead after arriving on a short-term contract following his release by Wigan in early November 2010.
The Ivory Coast-born French international, at the age of 30, must have realised he wouldn’t get too many chances to earn a long-term deal with the Parkhead side.
Kapo made his debut as a 77th-minute substitute for Daryl Murphy in a 2-0 league win over St Johnstone on Boxing Day at Parkhead and that was followed by a start in a 1-0 home success over Motherwell three days later.

He lasted only 38 minutes before being withdrawn and replaced by Beram Kayal. No reason was given for the player’s early departure.
Negotiations to extend his deal beyond the end of the campaign fell through in a bitter spat between the player and club and the skilful middle-of-the-park operator was on his travels once again.
In February 2011, Kapo signed a five-month contract with Qatari club Al Ahli SC, but his stay was cut short when his deal was terminated after only five appearances and two goals.
He returned to one of his former clubs, Auxerre, and signed for 18 months on January 2012. When his terms expired at the French outfit, he agreed a two-year switch to Greek Superleague side Levadiakos.

Kapo brought down the curtain on his career at Polish top-flight club Korona Kielce. He joined them in August 2014 on a one-year deal which was not extended.
