Atletico Madrid is prepared to pay 20m euros for Juventus loanee

Juventus and Atletico Madrid remain far apart in their valuation of Nicolas Gonzalez, with the attacker keen to return to the Spanish club permanently after his loan spell.

Juventus sent Gonzalez to Atletico last season, and the forward impressed during his time in Madrid. The two clubs had previously agreed on a 32m euros fee for a permanent transfer if Atletico were satisfied with his performances.

Atletico seek lower Gonzalez fee

There was also a conditional obligation to complete the transfer, but Gonzalez did not trigger that clause. As a result, both clubs must now negotiate a new agreement, with Atletico informing Juventus that they are not prepared to sign him for the previously discussed 32m euros.

Juventus are willing to offer Atletico a discount in order to reach a compromise, but the Bianconeri are not prepared to reduce their asking price too significantly. The Italian club still want a reasonable return for the attacker.

According to Tuttojuve, Atletico Madrid want to pay just 20m euros for Gonzalez, while Juventus are hoping to receive at least 28m euros. The difference between the two valuations has created a significant obstacle in negotiations.

Gonzalez wants a permanent Atletico move

Gonzalez has made it clear that he does not enjoy life in Turin and would prefer to join another club if Juventus and Atletico cannot reach an agreement. The forward does not want to return to work with Luciano Spalletti and continue his career in black and white.

Spalletti would be happy to give Gonzalez another opportunity at Juventus, but the attacker’s preference appears to be finding a new destination. The situation leaves both clubs needing to find common ground if they want to complete a permanent transfer.

The coming weeks will determine whether Juventus and Atletico can close the valuation gap. If they fail to reach an agreement, Gonzalez may have to consider other options away from both clubs.
