Man Utd aim for another midfield transfer this summer. The Red Devils are aiming a deal for Belgian midfielder Nicolas Raskin, who plays for the Rangers right now.
Raskin to follow Santos and Tielemans to Old Trafford?
It’s raining midfielders for Man Utd this summer. As reported by TEAMtalk, Raskin might join Old Trafford soon. The Red Devils look forward to signing the 25-year-old midfielder, only weeks after completing the deal for midfielders Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans. Even Villarreal have shown their interest in Raskin.
Raskin joined the Rangers in 2023. He previously played for Standard Liege from 2019 to 2023. Before that, he played for Gent’s senior team between 2018 and 2019. He was part of the club’s youth academy between 2017 and 2018.

How will Raskin fit into Man Utd?
Manchester United are aggressively overhauling their midfield for the upcoming season. That is the main reason the Red Devils signed players like Santos and Tielemans. Now Raskin is on their wishlist as well. United improved a lot in the 2025-26 season, especially at the Premier League, where they finished in third place. Team manager Michael Carrick wants to maintain this momentum for the upcoming season.
As for Raskin, he played well for Rangers last year. The Scottish club finished in third place at the Scottish Premiership. They also made it to the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup. Additionally, they made it to the semifinals of the League Cup. However, they were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League in the play-off round, due to which they had to play in the 2025-26 UEFA Europa League.

What’s next for Nicolas Raskin?
Right now, Raskin will be resting for a while before preparing for the next **football**season. He was a part of the Belgian team that played in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He scored two crucial assists for his team. Belgium eventually progressed to the quarterfinals. However, Spain defeated them 2-1 to make it to the semifinals for the first time since the 2010 edition. Spain went on to win the FIFA World Cup after 16 years. They defeated defending champions Argentina 1-0 [after extra time].
The Belgian midfielder has nothing much to worry about in terms of his fitness. However, he needs to slightly improve on his disciplinary concerns. Raskin received 7 yellow cards at the 2025-26 Premiership. If Raskin wants to make it big in European football, he needs to focus on improving himself.
Man Utd aim for a better season next year. The Red Devils haven’t won a Premier League title for the last 14 years. They had last won the Champions League as well as the FIFA Club World Cup in the 2008-09 season. Interestingly, Michael Carrick was a part of those teams as a player. As the new team manager, he would like nothing better than to bring back those golden days, no matter what it costs.
It won’t be easy to secure Nicolas Raskin, given that there are other clubs interested in him. However, if the Red Devils are determined, the Belgian midfielder will eventually make his way to Old Trafford by the beginning of the 2026-27 season. It remains to be seen if Raskin is equally interested to join Man Utd by the upcoming season.
